Accessibility Statement

We want everyone to be able to use this website, including seniors, people with disabilities, and people using assistive technology.

Our commitment

Accessibility matters to the people we serve, so it matters to us. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA, and we keep improving the site over time.

What we have built in

  • Semantic, well-structured headings and landmarks
  • Full keyboard navigation with visible focus styles
  • Reduced-motion support for people sensitive to movement
  • Descriptive text alternatives for meaningful images
  • Strong colour contrast for text and interface elements
  • Plain language, written to be read without specialist knowledge

How we check

Every deployment runs two automated checks over every page on this site, at desktop and phone widths. One loads each page and fails on anything broken: a page that errors, an image that never loads, a layout that scrolls sideways. The other measures the rendered page rather than the stylesheet, and reports any text whose contrast falls below AA against the background it is actually sitting on, along with tap targets that are too small.

Automated checks cannot tell you whether a page makes sense, so they are a floor and not a substitute for a person. We review this statement, and the issues below, at least twice a year.

What is not right yet

We would rather list these than let you discover them.

The booking calendar on the Book page is provided by a third party and embedded here. We do not control its markup and cannot fix its accessibility ourselves. If it does not work for you, the same appointment can be arranged by phone or by the contact form, and neither is a lesser route.

Our guides are web pages rather than PDFs, which is deliberate: a web page resizes, reflows and reads aloud, and a PDF often does none of those things.

Need something in another format?

If you need information from this site in a different format, or by phone, we are happy to help. Our guides can be printed or saved as PDFs, and we can read or explain content over the phone.

Tell us if something does not work

If any part of this site is difficult or impossible to use, we want to hear about it, and you do not need to explain it in technical terms. It helps if you can tell us the address of the page, what you were trying to do, and what device or software you were using, but tell us anyway if you cannot.

We answer accessibility reports the way we answer everything else, within one business day. We will tell you what we can fix, and when. If a fix will take a while, we will say what to do in the meantime.
